Shrink film, or shrink wrap is a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) film made from fractional low melt virgin resin and other additives of ultra violet (UV) ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA), and when subjected to heat, it begins a biaxial shrinking process as the heart is removed. The shrink film will shrink 25% to 30% of its surface dimension and mold itself to any type of structure. The UV (Ultra Violet Protection) added to our shrink film is rated at 12 months protection (UV-12). This provides for long lasting protection from excessive sun exposure.

A propane heat gun is used to seam and shrink the film. Domestic shipments may require vents to let the package breathe eliminating moisture collecting inside the package.

What is shrink film VpCI? VpCI

Shrink film VpCI (Vapor-Corrosion-Inhibitor) is shrink film that has impregnated chemicals built directly into the composition of the shrink film. For products that are going over seas, shipping to humid locations or that will be sitting for a long period of time we suggest our VpCI. It provides a controlled, dry, neutral interior atmosphere, while providing rust corrosion protection, thus eliminating the dust, dirt and other contaminates such as salt air from damaging your product.

What is the difference between stretch wrap and shrink film?

Stretch wrap is applied by stretching the material around an object providing minimal protection. Stretch wrap easily tears and breaks apart. Itstretch wrap does not provide a weather tight package. On the other hand, shrink film is draped over the package then seamed together using a propane heat gun. Thus providing a sealed package that is water tight and protection from the elements. It is a far superior product and offers greater advantages then stretch wrap.

Why use shrink film?

Shrink film is cost effective, labor friendly, environmentally safe, recyclable, weatherproof and installs quickly.

Shrink film is very durable and has many uses for packaging of large, and small items. Shrink wrapping a product can provide weatherization of irregular shaped objects, palletized truckloads of equipment, commodities, wood products, temporarily housing, and over the road freight. Thus providing a secure cover and protection from all types of storm damage.
